 At True Position Plastics, we provide complete mold design services for both prototype and production tooling. Every design is tailored to your part geometry, production volume, material selection, and press requirements.

Prototype Mold Design

We offer quick-turn and bridge tooling solutions, including:

• MUD base inserts
• Round Mate-style inserts
• Custom plate-based prototype tools (for your "custom" base; we will need specifications).
  Designed for fast iterations, early validation, and lower-cost entry into production.
   

Production Mold Design

We design molds to SPI Class 101, 103, 104, and 105 standards, suitable for everything from high-volume automotive production to short-run consumer or medical components. All tooling is optimized for long-term durability, ease of maintenance, and repeatable part quality.

Runner System Options

We design molds utilizing the full spectrum of runner technologies:

• Cold runner systems: cost-effective for low-to-medium volume or multi-material applications
• Hot runner systems: optimized for reduced waste, balanced flow, and higher efficiency
• Valve gate systems: ideal for cosmetic parts, sequential gating, or shear-sensitive materials
• Hot sprue bushings: simplified hot drop systems for direct gating and minimized residence time
   

Mold Configurations We Support

• 3-Plate molds for center gating and flexibility in gate location
• Stripper plate molds for uniform part ejection without ejector pins
• Reverse injection tools for back-gating or specialized part designs
